Who else can we pander to?

Wow. I like the Australian government more each day. The government has taken us on the Bush Bully Boy invasion of Iraq, it's beating up its citizens at home with horrible IR laws, and now it has "taken Indonesia's concerns into account" when it formulated new immigration laws, which, if passed will see all unauthorised boat arrivals being sent offshore to countries such as Nauru for processing. Boy oh boy, this is great. I think our neighbour from across the ditch, New Zealand, should start making some demands of the government. They are obviously in a generous mood. You never know what they would conceed to. Grow a spine guys and do what is right.

And while I am in the mood, I'd like to bring up the David Hicks situation again - yeah, yeah it's 'old news'. NO IT'S NOT. How can our politicians hold their heads up knowing that a young Australian is being held in horrific conditions in the detention camp of a country that we supposedly have such close relations with. Shame on you. All you need to do is threaten to pull our troops out of Iraq with a suggestion that Hick's release is important to Australians. The man wouldn't have time to comb his hair.

I feel better now.

Go Julia!

I'm a polite person - really. I normally run a mile from an argument or unpleasantness. But ... I'm right behind Julia Gillard, Anthony Albanese (my member - go AA), Stephen Smith and Julia Irwin for their heckling of Tony Abbott and John Howard in the House of Reps over the potential privatisation of Medibank Private. The "It's not our fault he is short" comment was a ripper.
